Beefs About Babes, Bustiers, & Bras
Call us lecherous, but TSG had absolutely no problem with that racy Victoria's Secret fashion show aired on ABC-TV a couple months back. Sure, we had a previous run-in with the lingerie outfit, but that didn't stop us from enjoying the stirring performances by Tyra Banks, Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum, and other models. But not everybody was as thrilled with the program as was this red-blooded web site. In fact, the Federal Communications Commission was inundated with complaints from prudes who thought the November 15 telecast was lewd, pornographic, or a danger to America's kids. TSG knows this because we filed a Freedom of Information request with the FCC for all correspondence regarding the show that was sent to the agency. We just got back about 925 letters (most of which were sent to FCC commissioners via e-mail), and with the exception of 50 pro-negligee missives, they all ripped ABC and Victoria's Secret. Click here to view a sampling of those amusing complaints--and a few letters that support bras, teddys, and peignoirs. (11 pages)
3/25 UPDATE: FCC clears ABC of raunch charges.
